Elachiptera sp. A Material examined: COSTA RICA: Guanacaste Prov., Playa Tamarindo, 27.iii.1987, W.E. Steiner, J.M. Hill, S.E. Frye (1Ψ, USNM). Remarks: This species is known from a single female specimen. The broad gena distinguishes it from other known species in the region, but we hesitate to describe a species based on female characters only.
