Rana erythraea (Schlegel, 1837) (Fig. 4 e) Material examined. Several specimens observed at Maninjau, Bayur, and Lubuksao, Province of Sumatera Barat. Taxonomic comments. This large sized Hylarana species with green back and light yellow dorsolateral stripes is the only species showing this colour pattern in Sumatra. Distribution on Sumatra. Present all over Sumatra. Biology. This species is common in ponds with aquatic and adjacent vegetation, and numerous in cultivated areas and shrubs. Specimens were observed at daytime near water, producing abundant diurnal calls in November. By night, they were more wide spread. Observed in August and November.
