Cyrtomaia murrayi Miers 1885: 588, fig. 196; 1886: 15, pl. III, fig. 1. Remarks. The subsequent selection of the type species for Cyrtomaia, made by Guinot & Richer de Forges (1982) (see Ng et al. 2008), has to be regarded as a case of " type fixation overlooked" (Article 70.2, ICZN 1999) because Miers (1885: 588) wrote “... I have designated Cyrtomaia murrayi, a new genus and species (see fig. 196) …”. This statement by Miers for a work published before 1931 is deemed to be an original designation (Article 68.2.1, ICZN 1999). Valid as Cyrtomaia murrayi Miers, 1885.
