Department of Chemistry, University of Kalyani, Kalyani-741 235 Manuscript received 12 April 1989, revised 19 September 1989, accepted 6 February 1990 The conductance studies of hydrochlorides of well-known druge (like pseudoephedrine, isoxsuprine, metoclopramide, pentazocine, propranalol, dicyclomine and -phenylpropanolamine) in aqueous solutions have been made. The analysis of the results using Shedlovsky's equation indicates that the compounds are associated in aqueous solutions. Improved values of the association constants K and o have been determined using Fuoss equation. The o values of the cations compare very well with those fortetraalkylammonium ions and it is expected that they undergo hydrophobicinteractions in aqueous solutions.
