Xynotingis Drake 1948

Abstract

Xynotingis Drake, 1948 Xynotingis Drake, 1948: 8; Drake & Ruhoff, 1960: 88; 1965: 427; Péricart & Golub, 1996: 78. Type species: Xynotingis hoytana Drake, 1948, by original designation. Diagnosis. Among those genera of the tribe Tingini with paranota completely reflexed to rest on pronotum and somewhat inflated, Xynotingis can be recognized by its elongated head with clypeus distinctly produced forwards and nearly reaching the apex of antennal segment I (Fig. 2), its rostrum very longer (extending to the third ventral sternum) and its hemelytra much broader, with the outer margins broadly rounded (Figs. 1–4).
