Glyphipterix gemmula Diakonoff et Arita, 1976 (Figs. 8, 9, 20, 27) Glyphipterix gemmula Diakonoff et Arita, 1976: 194, Figs. 18, 21. TL: Japan (Honshu); Heppner, 1982: 50; Diakonoff, 1986: 305, Pl. 14, Fig. 118 1−2; Arita and Heppner, 1992: 18, Figs. 7−8, 60, 63. Description. Adult with wingspan 10.0 mm. Female (Fig. 9) with basal transverse streak wider than that of male (Fig. 8), and its outer margin more convex. Diagnosis. This species belongs to the gemmula -group. It resembles G. deliciosa Diakonoff, 1978 superficially, but can be distinguished by having a crescent spot above tornus, which is triangular in G. deliciosa; the third segment of the labial palpus is longer than the median segment in G. gemmula, but equal in G. d e l i ci o s a. Moreover, the aedeagus is clavate in distal half in G. gemmula (Fig. 20); while G. deliciosa has a peculiar aedeagus with distal 1/3 subconical. Variations. A second indistinct yellow costal spot exists between the first and second costal streaks, which is absent in the description of Diakonoff (1986), but presents in Arita & Heppner (1992).
