Chrysaster Kumata, 1961 Chrysaster Kumata, 1961: 52. Type species: Chrysaster hagicola Kumata, 1961. The diagnosis of the genus is given by Kumata (1961). Larvae mine leaves of Fabaceae. Thus far, a total of seven plant species, Lespedeza bicolor Turcz., L. cyrtobotrya Miq., Robinia hispida L., R. neomexicana A. Gray, R. pseudoacacia L., R. viscosa Vent. and Robinia sp. have been recorded as hosts of both C. hagicola Kumata, 1961 and C. ostensackenella (Fitch, 1859) (Kumata 1961; De Prins & De Prins 2005, 2014). The genus Chrysaster is reported for the first time from China.
