Abstract

Petrotrichis rotundata sp. n. (Figs. 10 A–O) Habitus Fig 10 A. Length 0.73 mm. Colour dark brown/black, appearing shining and polished, pubescence pale yellow, antennae and legs dusky yellow. Antennomeres 3–11 0.34 mm long, 10–11 with bunches of 2/3 sensillae, Fig. 10 C, 2N. Mentum and submentum chaetotaxy Fig. 10 D. Width across eyes 0.33 mm. Pronotum 0.51 mm wide, 0.27 mm long, lacking obvious microsculpture Fig. 10 M, sides with a small tooth at the hind angle, Fig. 10 O, and more sharply rounded in basal third, Fig. 10 D. Elytra 0.46 mm long, 0.50 mm wide. Scutellum and metascutellum Fig. 10 L. Meso- and metaventra Fig. 10 H. Pygidium lacking setae on anterior margin and without a central point on the posterior margin, Fig. 10 I. Male: aedeagus Fig. 10 F; ventrite 6 with elongate incision and a pair of stout horn-like setae at the corners Fig. 10 K; ventrite 7 Fig. 10 G; front tibia with a dense patch of short hooked setae Fig. 10 J. Female: spermatheca Fig. 10 E Etymology. From the Latin rotundatus meaning rounded.
