Blennidus (Agraphoderus) tardus Tschitscherine 1898

Abstract

Blennidus (Agraphoderus) tardus (Tschitschérine, 1898) (Figs. 45, 83) Feronia tarda Tschitschérine, 1898: 161 Ogmopleura tarda (Tschitschérine, 1898): Straneo & Vereshagina, 1991: 199 Ogmopleura tarda (Tschitschérine, 1898): Straneo, 1993: 378 [= anxia Tschitschérine, 1898] Blennidus tardus (Tschitschérine, 1898): Lorenz, 2005a: 263 Blennidus tardus (Tschitschérine, 1898): Lorenz, 2005b: 907 Type locality. Peru. Examined material. HT ♀ (CTs at ZIRA). Note. This species was described from a single ♀ specimen deposited in the Tschitschérine Collection (ZIRA). Straneo & Vereshagina (1991) compared the HTs of Blennidus tardus and Blennidus anxius noting some consistent differences; later Straneo (1993) considered B. tardus a synonym of B. anxius, evaluating the differences between the 2 HT as intraspecific variability. Our study of the HTs of both species emphasized some evident differences, mainly in the morphology of pronotum; therefore we prefer to keep these species separate, in agreement with Lorenz (2005a).
