Family Moinidae Goulden, 1968 33. Moina brachiata (Jurine, 1820). Recorded by Pearse (1916) and Álvarez (2010). Palearctic species, but it has been also reported from Africa (Goulden 1968; Smirnov 1976; Kotov et al. 2013a). According to Goulden (1968), this species is absent in the New World, but Elías-Gutiérrez et al. (2008a) reported it from the northern Neotropics. The Colombian specimens should be revised. In Colombia, it occurs in the Caribbean region. 34. Moina eugeniae Olivier, 1954. Recorded by Fuentes-Reinés et al. (2012, fig 18). Neotropical species (Smirnov 1976). In Colombia, it occurs in the Caribbean region. 35. Moina micrura Kurz, 1874 s.lat. Recorded by Barón-Rodríguez et al. (2006); Aranguren-Riaño et al. (2011); Gaviria (2001) and Fuentes-Reinés et al. (2012, fig 16). A cosmopolitan group needs a detailed revision (Elías-Gutlíerrez et al. 1999; Petrusek et al. 2004; Elías-Gutlíerrez et al. 2008b; Kotov et al. 2013a). In Colombia, it has been reported from the Andean, Amazon and Caribbean regions. 36. Moina minuta Hansen, 1899. Recorded by Barón-Rodríguez et al. (2006); Gallo-Sánchez et al. (2009); Aranguren-Riaño et al. (2011) and Fuentes-Reinés et al. (2012). Neotropical species (Paggi 1973; Smirnov 1976; Kotov et al. 2013a). In Colombia, it has been reported from the Andean, Amazon and Caribbean regions. Moina macrophtalma Stingelin, 1913. Recorded by Stingelin (1913) in Colombia. This species is considered among synonyms of Moina micrura (Kotov et al. 2013a), but if known populations from the Neotropics will be regarded as belonging to a separate species, one of them could be M. macrophthalma. 37. Moina reticulata (Daday, 1905). Recorded by Aranguren-Riaño et al. (2011) and Fuentes-Reinés et al. (2012, fig 17). It is considered a Neotropical species (Paggi 1973; Kotov et al. 2013a), while populations from Africa (Lamoot & Dumont 1974) probably belong to a separate, yet undescribed species. In Colombia, it has been reported from the Amazon and Caribbean regions. 38. Moinodaphnia macleayi Herrick, 1887. Recorded by Pearse (1916); Barón-Rodríguez et al. (2006); Aranguren-Riaño et al. (2011); Brehm (1956); Gaviria (2001); Fuentes-Reinés et al. (2012, fig 15) and Fuentes- Reinés (2014a). It is widely distributed in the tropics and subtropics of the Old and New World, penetrating into non-tropical areas of Asia and North America (Goulden 1968). In Colombia, it has been reported from the Andean, Amazon and Caribbean regions. The genus needs to be revised worldwide.
