Abstract

Sagittaria guayanensis Kunth in Humb. & al., Nov. Gen. Sp. 1, ed. folio: 199; ed. quarto: 250. 1816. = Lophiocarpus guayanensis f. minor Chodat in Bull. Herb. Boissier ser. 2, 3: 1032. 1903. Holotypus: PARAGUAY. Cordillera: “ Prope Tobaty in stagno ”, IX.1900, Hassler, E. 6155 a (G [G00009360]!; iso-: G [G00009356, G00009359]!), syn. nov. Notas. – El tamaño menor de las flores sobre el cual Chodat se basa para describir Lophiocarpus guayanensis f. minor está comprendido en la variabilidad de S. guayanensis. Se formaliza aquí la sinonimia de esta forma. En cuanto al tipo, es necesario aclarar que se trata de un holótipo a pesar de lo que aparenta en el protólogo. Chodat en su descripción dice al referirse al material tipo de la f. minor: “in eodem stagno ut n. 6155” (= en el mismo pantano que el n. 6155) mencionando luego a la colección Hassler 6155a. De hecho, Chodat copia lo indicado en la etiqueta del holótipo tanto para la indicación del lugar como para el criterio morfológico que fundamenta esta forma: “simili 6155 et in eod. loco sed minor ”. Chodat, por lo tanto cita una colección única como tipo: Hassler 6155a.
