Götz). Distribution:Afrotropical, Holarctic (Ozerov 2005). Comments:This is arguably the most common species of Nemopoda in Switzerland (Rohner et al. 2015). This large sepsid fly is frequently found near animal carcasses, decaying fruit or other rotting plant material. It can be found on cow dung as well but this does not seem to represent its main breeding substrate.
