Abstract

Tragardhus (Tragardhus) glandipleurum Koch, 1956 (Figs 2A, E, H, J, 4B, 7) Tragardhus (Tragardhus) glandipleurum Koch, 1956: 382.— Banaszkiewicz 2006: 64; Kamiński 2011: 332. Studied type material. Syntype, sex UNDeteRmiNeD (TNHM): “TRägåRDh”, “ZUlU”, “ 8 jUli ”, “TYpe / glANDi- / pleURUm / Koch” (Fig. 4B). Other material, 3 femAles AND mAle (TMNH): “S. AfR.: ZUlUlAND / HlUhlUwe GAme Res. / 28.05S – 32.04 E ”, “ 26.11.1992; E-Y: 2853 / siNgleD ARoUND cAmp / leg. ENDRÖDY-YoUNgA”, 8 femAles AND 3 mAles (TMNH): “HlUhlUwe. / Oct. 1935. / R. F. LAwReNce”, mAle AND femAle (TMNH): “J. JoppiN / E. ZUlUlAND”. Notes. This species wAs Not ReDescRibeD, As the oRigiNAl DescRiptioN bAseD oN exteRNAl moRphologY is complete AND coNsisteNt with the stYle ADopteD heRe. AlthoUgh the femAle teRmiNAliA of this species wAs DescRibeD iN DetAil bY BANAszkiewicz (2006), the pReseNt iNvestigAtioN ReveAleD A completelY DiffeReNt imAge, with mAjoR DiffeReNces coNceRNiNg both the ovipositoR AND speRmAthecA. BecAUse this might hAve impoRtANt phYlogeNetic implicAtioNs, the moRphologY of the femAle teRmiNAliA is ReDescRibeD below. Female terminalia. OvipositoR (Fig. 5A, C, D) RelAtivelY shoRt (boDY: ovipositoR leNgth RAtio cA. 8.0). PARApRoct eqUAl iN leNgth to coxites; tRiANgUlAR, Not shielDiNg vAlvifeR oR ANY otheR lobes of coxities. VAlvifeR tRANsveRse (wiDth: leNgth RAtio cA. 4.7). SecoND lobe tRApezoiDAl; thiRD lobe tRiANgUlAR. ApicAl lobe ReDUceD, sitUAteD ApicAllY. GoNostYlUs locAteD oN DoRsAl siDe of the lAtteR lobe. VAgiNA AND bURsA copUlAtRix withoUt scleRites. SpeRmAthecA with thiN DUcts; coNNecteD with bURsA copUlAtRix bY A thiN cANAl. SpicUlUm veNtRAle shoRt (wiDth: height RAtio cA. 1.5). PRoctigeR coveRiNg whole veNtRAl siDe of ovipositoR. Distribution. This species hAs beeN collecteD iN the followiNg ecoRegioN of SoUth AfRicA (TRopicAl sUbRegioN): DRAkeNsbeRg moNtANe gRAsslANDs, wooDlANDs AND foRests (Fig. 7).
