This report was produced for the Developing a Data Trust for Open Access Ebook Usage project funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Part I reviews international data protection and privacy laws relevant to a data trust; Part II considers the advantages and disadvantages of various legal structures for a data trust. Together, these sections informed the project's governance and architecture development.
