El pensamiento y obra de Fidel Castro Ruz en el campo de la ciencia y la innovación.

Abstract

La conferencia tiene como objetivo analizar los fundamentos, principios y matrices de la concepción estratégica de Fidel Castro Ruz en relación con el desarrollo de la ciencia, la tecnología y la innovación en las condiciones de Cuba, luego del triunfo de la Revolución, tomando en cuenta las peculiaridades de este proceso histórico. Se evalúan los antecedentes históricos, y las condiciones en que se gestó el promisorio y fecundo despliegue de la actividad científica en la Isla, a pesar del subdesarrollo económico y el asedio permanente por parte de EE.UU. En la concepción de Fidel el desarrollo científico del país es un componente ineludible para construir el socialismo, y alcanzar la emancipación humana, formar al hombre nuevo, elevar el bienestar del pueblo, conquistar superiores cotas de justicia social, elevar la autoestima nacional y fortalecer la independencia del país. Los principios, conceptos y modos de concebir y relanzar una y otra vez renovadores enfoques para desplegar la ciencia, la tecnología y la innovación concebidas y materializadas consecuentemente bajo el liderazgo de Fidel conservan absoluta vigencia y un enorme potencial a la luz de las realidades del país y del mundo actual. La ciencia no es solo una actividad profesional e importante renglón económico, es también piedra angular de la independencia, la soberanía nacional y de la resiliencia de la sociedad cubana en la particular situación geopolítica en que se construye el socialismo. Estudiar el legado de Fidel Castro Ruz tiene un enorme valor heurístico y práctico hacia el futuro.
