Abstract

Gnathifera acacivorella (Gaedike, 1968) (Figs 10, 26) Ochromolopis acacivorella Gaedike, 1968: 612, figs 30a–30b Gnathifera acacivorella (Gaedike, 1968): Gaedike 1978: 208 Material studied. New South Wales: 1 ♀, Barren Grounds Fauna Res., 29.x.1977, leg. V. J. Robinson, ANIC, 1 ♂, CSIRO Exp. Fm., Wilton, 20.xii.1976, leg. V. J. Robinson, ANIC. Distribution. New South Wales (first record), Tasmania (Gaedike, 1968). Bionomics. Larvae in galls of Acacia sp. The description of the male genitalia is presented for the first time (Fig. 26): Uncus straight, narrowing to rounded tip; gnathos nearly circularly swollen, covered with numerous minute bristles; valva short, more or less parallel, costal edge apically ending in a short digital process, at underside with a thin strongly sclerotized rod-like process, ventral edge with narrow longitudinal bristled fold, apodemes connected with vinculum, with digital process, nearly reaching apex of valva; phallus longer than valva, basal half narrower than apical half, with rounded tip.
