The holotype of Baccha panamensis Curran fits the redescription of Pelecinobaccha transatlantica by Miranda et al. (2014), with the exception that the color pattern of the legs is much darker overall, with pale areas reduced to the base of the tibiae. The allotype of B. panamensis is not conspecific with the holotype, and it has been identified as Relictanum johnsoni.
