Triops cancriformis (Bosc) Fig.3 (A–D) Material examined. YPM IZ 003588.CR: Single female Locality. Punjab, Sargodhar District, 3 mi. South of Nuriwala, 6-III-1932 (as per Bond (1934). Note in catalog: “c. 305 m [eters].”(Sargodha District, Punjab, Pakistan) Diagnosis. Length of the carapace: 1.24 cm (from tip of carapace to terminal carinal spine); Total length: 2.56 cm (from tip of carapace to tip of telson); Body segments: Thirty three with 18 abdominal segments; Dorsal organ: Similar to Kashmir population (circular) (Fig.3B) Carapace oval with about 50 sulcus spines; terminal spine distinct, about 1.1 times longer than the adjacent sulcus spines (Fig.3A). Tenth trunk limb endital spines. Damaged, spines could not be counted. Apodal segments. 4.25 segments; supernumeraries absent on the ventral side. Telson. A single large medial spine with many (~26) small spines (~0.1 or even less times the medial spines in length) scattered anteriorly to it; two furcal spines present on each side; two large posterior marginal spines present with one smaller spine present on the right-hand side adjacent to the large spine; telson length ratio of 0.32; cercopods broken (Fig.3C & D) Comments. The specimen from the collection has similar characters as compared to the Kashmir population (Padhye & Ghate, 2015) except in the bigger size of the specimen. Also, the collection site is close to the earlier studied population (Kashmir). Given that there was only a single specimen, detailed comparison at this stage would not be informative. Hence, with the available information, we refer this specimen as a representative of a nongonochoric population of T. cancriformis.
