Aislf 2016- Faire Pour Comprendre ? Quelle(S) Approches(S) Pour L’Étude Du “Make” Et Du “Hack” ?

Abstract

Cette communication se basera sur le travail de doctorant(e)s, jeunes docteur(e)s de disciplines différentes (sociologie, information et communication, esthétique, etc.) mais dont le parcours et les démarches méthodologiques se font écho autour d’objets émergents : communautés et espaces en ligne/hors ligne d’action et de production collective (hacker/makerspace, hackathon). Les travaux issus de l’Ecole de Chicago et leurs nombreuses filiations (théorisation enracinée, analyse situationnelle, etc.) (Guillemette et Luckerhoff, 2009; Clarke 2005) ont été source d’inspiration pour construire leur approche qualitative. Ils ont été aussi une aide pour définir leur posture de recherche et accepter de "s'émanciper" (Hughes 1996) et de ne pas mettre de côté le bagage des expériences passées ou en cours pour l’analyse de leur terrain (Emerson, 2003). Au contraire, c’est par une nécessaire immersion où les limites entre chercheurs et "faiseurs"/ “bricoleurs” sont floues que la diversité des pratiques et des formes d’organisation se sont dessinées ou ont été expérimentées. Plus qu’une approche d’observation participante, les notions de participation observante (Soulé, 2007), d'"expérience-enquête" (Schnapper 2011), d’empathie fertile (Bosqué, 2016) ont été nécessaires pour appréhender ces milieux et mettre en évidence des médiations sociales difficilement accessibles par des approches sociologiques classiques (Hamel, 1997).
