Abstract

Professorinnen und Professoren bilden traditionellerweise den akademischen Kernbestand von Universitäten und Hochschulen. Mit der Etablierung von Pädagogischen Hochschulen wird dieser Titel auch in den Institutionen der Lehrerinnen- und Lehrerbildung zuerkannt. Welche formalen Regelungen gelten hier für die Verleihung dieses prestigeträchtigen Titels? Der Beitrag sichtet die Reglemente der deutschsprachigen Pädagogischen Hochschulen, fragt nach den individuellen Voraussetzungen, den Anstellungsverhältnissen und den Aufgabenprofilen sowie nach den Typen von Professorinnen und Professoren und unterscheidet schließlich drei Grundmuster von Vergabemodalitäten. Der Beitrag illustriert und diskutiert damit gleichzeitig einige Besonderheiten des Hochschultypus «Pädagogische Hochschulen».
