Abstract

Department of Chemistry, Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar-388 120 Department of Chemistry, North Gujarat University, Patan-383 215 Manuscript received 30 January 1995, revised 31 January 1996, accepted 14 February 1996 Synthesis of 5-hydroxymethyl-8-quinolinol and 8-formyl-7-hydroxy-4-methyl-2H-1-benzopyran-2-one (FHMB) with aniline (FHMBAnil) have been carried out to study the binary and ternary complexes of uranium and thorium. Different analytical techniques have been used to find out the structure of the complexes. They have also been tested for their antimicrobial activities.
