Abstract

Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005, India Manuscript received 15 February 1999, revised 24 May 1999, accepted 4 June 1999 Six-coordinated NiII , CuII and ZnII complexes have been prepared by one-pot synthesis using metal acetates, 2- chloromethylbenzimidazole (L1) and 2-mercapto-1,3-dlazacyclopentadcc-Δ'-ene (L2). Ligands and complexes have been evaluated for their antibacterial activity.
