Zur Pragmatik von Konzessivsätzen

Abstract

Ziel deses Beitrags ist es, einige Erkenntnisse zusammen­zutragen, die wir heute über Konzessivsätze besitzen. Außerdem möchten wir skizzieren, wie wir uns die Behandlung von Konzessivsätzen in grammatischen Handbüchern des Deutschen vorstellen und in welcher Weise dabei pragmatische Gesichtspunkte zu berücksichtigen sind. Diese Skizze schließt eine Diskussion der Beziehungen ein, die zwischen Konzessiv­sätzen und anderen, verwandten Adverbialsatztypen bestehen (Teil 2), eine Analyse des Beitrags, den konzessive Konnektiva zur Bedeutung eines Satzes bzw. einer Äußerung liefern (Teil 3), einige Ausführungen über typische Verwendungen von Konzessivsätzen in Argumentationen und Sprechakten (Teil 4), und schließlich eine Charakterisierung der Konnektiva, die im Deutschen und anderen Sprachen zur Kennzeichnung konzessiver Relationen zur Verfügung stehen (Teil 5). ln diesem letzten Teil unserer Ausführungen zeigen wir, in welcher Weise prag­matische Maximen bei der Genese solcher Konnektiva eine Rolle spie­len, und versuchen, aus der früheren, kompositionell abgeleiteten Bedeu­tung dieser Konnektiva Aufschlüsse über die Funktion von Konzessivität zu bekommen.
