Abstract

Vitronura sp. Material studied. 1 juvenile specimen. Iran: Mazandaran Province, Sari county, Salardare forest, 29 April 2016, soil and leaf litter, Berlese extraction, 36º32ʹ59ʺ N, 53º7ʹ31ʺ E, 28 m a.s.l., Eliye Yahyapour leg. The single individual collected apparently represents an undescribed species characterized by 2 An tubercles on head, with 4 chaetae (B chaeta as Ml, C, D and E chaetae as Mc); cephalic tubercle Fr with 4 chaetae (A chaeta as Ml and two O chaetae as Mc); cephalic tubercle Oc with 2 Ml (Ocm and Ocp) and one mi (Oca); tubercles Di on head separate, with one Ml; cephalic tubercle De with 3 chaetae (one Ml and 2 Mcc); tubercle (Dl+L+So) on head with 6+9 chaetae; tubercles Di on Th I−III with 1,3,3 chaetae, respectively; tubercles De on Th I−III with 2,3+s,4+s chaetae, respectively; tubercles L on Abd II−IV with 3,6,5 chaetae, respectively; tubercles Di and (De+Dl+L) on Abd V with 3 and 5+s chaetae, respectively; claw without inner tooth. Additional material is needed to confirm the identity of the species.
