Abstract

The Large Synoptic Survey Telescope will deliver time-domain data through an alert stream. I will describe the software pipelines that produce the alerts, the contents of the alert packets, and an envisioned architecture for alert distribution and simple filtering. I will compare these systems to those being constructed for the Zwicky Transient Facility, which provides an opportunity to prototype brokers and other followup resources on an LSST-like stream beginning in 2018.
