The global literature about rapid-onset opioids (ROOs) was scanned in the Web of Science online database. The search terms and string applied to identify the closest matching articles included “rapid-onset opioids” or “transmucosal fentanyl” and “breakthrough cancer pain”. All data were acquired on December 26, 2021. Data were exported as a Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) file.
