Objetivo: Analizar la literatura científica relacionada con las ulceras terminales de Kennedy (KTU) y sus principales características, publicada en las principales bases de datos, entre los años 1962 y 2021 para proponer un plan de cuidados de enfermería. Metodología: Se llevó a cabo una revisión de la literatura en las principales bases de datos de las Ciencias de la Salud y las Ciencias Sociales (Medline-Pubmed, Cinhal, Web of Science, Lilacs, Sociological abstracts, Cuiden, Embase, Psycoinfo e ISI web of knowledge). Se emplearon descriptores en español, inglés y portugués: “úlcera terminal de Kennedy”, “poliulceraciones” y “úlceras terminales”. Se hizo una lectura crítica de los artículos seleccionados utilizando un protocolo para extraer los datos. Resultados: Se encontraron 18 artículos que cumplían con los criterios establecidos (8 casos clínicos, 5 revisiones teóricas, 4 revisiones sistemáticas e integrativas, 1 estudio descriptivo). Conclusión: En los estudios analizados se identificaron principalmente aspectos relacionados con las características, curso de la enfermedad y las necesidades del paciente; también reportaron las estrategias de tratamiento, pero ninguna de ellas es definitiva o comprobada en su totalidad, lo que permite proponer intervenciones desde la disciplina enfermera. [KENNEDY'S TERMINAL ULCERS: A NURSING APPROACH TO CARE] ABSTRACT: Objective: to analyze the scientific literature related to Kennedy terminal ulcers (KTU) and their main characteristics, published in the main databases between 1962 and 2021 to propose a nursing care plan. Methodology: A literature review was carried out in the main databases of the Health Sciences and Social Sciences (Medline-Pubmed, Cinhal, Web of Science, Lilacs, Sociological abstracts, Cuiden, Embase, Psycoinfo and ISI web of knowledge). Descriptors in Spanish, English and Portuguese were used: “Kennedy terminal ulcer”, “poliulcerations” and “terminal ulcers”. A systematic review of the selected articles was done using a protocol to extract the data. Results: 18 articles were found that met the established criteria (8 clinical cases, 5 theoretical reviews, 4 systematic and integrative reviews, 1 descriptive study). Conclusion: In the analyzed studies, aspects related to the characteristics, course of the disease and the needs of the patient were mainly identified; They also reported treatment strategies, but none of them is definitive or proven in its entirety, which makes it possible to propose interventions from the nursing discipline.
