Sundaramakalingam Temple is located on the Sathuragiri Hills near the Thiruvilliputhur Circle in the Western Ghats. The temple is self-contained. There is a hilly road to reach the temple, which is located at a distance of 8 km from the foothills. The natural setting of the mountains is breathtaking. It is also rich in medicinal leaves, bark and seeds. The architecture of the temple and its elements are described in detail in the scriptures and sculptures found in the temple.
