Abstract

Der Beitrag geht fragend den Widersprüchen nach, die mit der Herausbildung und Institutionalisierung akademischer Disziplinen einhergehen, und verfolgt explorierend die Verankerung der Art Education als Disziplin im tertiären Bildungsbereich. Der Text verfolgt somit den Versuch, einen konzeptuellen Rahmen für die weitere Entwicklung und Disziplinierung der Art Education in der Schweiz zu setzen. Im Schreibprozess selbst verhandeln die Autor*innen aus ihren unterschiedlichen institutionellen und forschenden Positionierungen heraus disziplinäre und institutionelle Verhältnisse. Die Interdisziplinarität als Merkmal der Art Education ist dabei leitend und zieht eine Reihe von Fragen nach sich: Inwiefern bildet sich durch die disziplinäre Verankerung von Art Education als interdisziplinär eine Eigenständigkeit gegenüber Referenzdisziplinen ab? Und wie kann die Dichotomie, welche das Verständnis von Art Education weitläufig prägt, dadurch überwunden werden? Was beinhaltet ein forschendes Selbstverständnis und wie kann mit einer fehlenden Tradition in diesem Fach umgegangen werden? Wie wirkmächtig sind institutionelle Strukturen und was ist die Rolle der Selbstreflexion im Prozess einer Verstetigung?
