Department of Chemistry, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad-431 004, Maharashtra, India E-mail : abr_chem@yahoo.co.in Millind College of Science, Nagsenvan, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India Manuscript received 24 May 2010, revised 29 December 2010. accepted 12 January 2011 A simple and rapid liquid-liquid extraction of palladium(ll) studied involving complexation of palladium(ll) with 4-(4-ethoxybenzylideneamino)-5-methyi-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol (EBIMTT). The extraction was fast with short shaking time (30 s). The results obtained showed that the average recovery of palladium(ll) from an aquNms solution containing μg/ml of analyte was 99% with a relative standard deviation of 0.95. The method is applicable to the analysis of synthetic mixtures. It is highly selective, simple and rapid.
