Nocarodes iranicus Werner 1939

Abstract

Nocarodes specialis Mistshenko sp. n.: Bey-Bienko & Mistshenko 1951: 357. syn. nov. Nocarodes specialis Mistshenko, 1951: Mirzayans 1959: 17; Shumakov 1963: 59; Presa & Garcia 1983: 18; Otte 1994: 174; Mirzayans 1998: 22; Hodjat 2012: 266. Type locality. Iran, Tehran, Karaj. Holotype: females (NMW). Material examined. IRAN: [Tehran], Keredj [Karaj], 1♀ (Holotype) (leg. K. H. Rechinger) (det. as “ Prionosthenus iranicus Wern. ” Typus) (det. Ramme as Nocarodes serricollis F.W.) (NMW); Persia, Teheran, 14– 15.6.1931, 1♂, 1♀ (Paratypes of Nocarodes specialis) (leg. Predtetshensky) (NHMUK); Voramine [Varamin], Karagadj, 1.6.1960, 1♂, 7♀ (leg. E. S. Brown); Teheran, Keredj, 1500 m, 6.5.1936, 1♀ (leg. F. Predtetshensky) MNCN). Distribution. N. Iran: Tehran, Karaj, Varamin, Semnan, Kermanshah (Fig. 848). Remarks. Mistshenko (Bey-Bienko & Mistshenko 1951: 357) describing N. specialis overlooked the paper of Werner (1939) like most of the subsequent researchers. Moreover he did not list the species described by Werner. Studying the type specimens of both taxa was possible to conclude that they belong to the same species. Mirzayans (1998: 22) record from Kermanshah should deserve to be confirmed.
