This report provides an introduction to the tools and services that have been implemented to form the CARARE aggregator, and describes work that has been carried out within the work package 3 of CARARE. Chapter 2 provides an introduction to the MINT tools and their functionality, which includes: • Metadata upload • Mapping and ingestion preparation • Publishing Chapter 3 describes the tools and functionalities of MORE, which are structured as follows: • Metadata harvesting – OAI-PMH • Metadata harvesting – SIP • Transformation subsystem • Indexing subsystem • Ingest process monitoring • Content provider interface • Europeana export Chapter 4 provides a description of the CARARE data management point of view and the interfaces used to achieve interoperability: • CARARE and EDM • Publishing workflow to Europeana Chapter 5 describes how the CARARE system uses the CARARE and EDM metadata schemas to achieve interoperability between content providers native systems and Europeana. The mapping between CARARE and EDM is provided in Annex 1.
