Abstract

RESUMO ��� A associa����o de mineraliza����es do tipo IOCG com diques m��ficos e f��lsicos que se encontram na Prov��ncia Mineral de Caraj��s (PMC) �� um elemento que pode ser de grande import��ncia na compreens��o da metalog��nese de dep��sitos minerais nessa regi��o. Entretanto, existem algumas d��vidas acerca da forma����o desses diques e seu papel na hist��ria de forma����o da PMC que j�� foram levantadas atrav��s de outras investiga����es realizadas pela literatura na ��rea de estudo, como o papel desempenhado por eles ao longo das quarto eras nas quais eles se formaram (desde o Mesozoico at�� o Paleoproterozoico), os problemas gerados pela correla����o com os eventos hidrotermais e os diques, al��m dos diversos e complexos eventos tect��nicos e metam��rficos e a intensidade dos processos de meteoriza����o que afetaram a PMC ao longo de sua hist��ria. Este projeto tem por meta a caracteriza����o petrogr��fica, geocronol��gica (U-Pb em zirc��o e badele��ta, mineral esse ainda n��o usado como ferramenta para este tipo de procedimento), geoqu��mica e de geoqu��mica isot��pica (Pb-Pb e Sm-Nd em rocha total) aos diques m��ficos e f��lsicos relacionados ��s mineraliza����es do tipo IOCG na PMC, visando compreender o papel destes magmatismos na metalogenia da ��rea de estudo. Inicialmente est�� sendo feita a revis��o bibliogr��fica sobre a PMC, com o levantamento de mais informa����es dispon��veis na literatura acerca da regi��o. As amostras utilizadas para este estudo foram cedidas pela companhia VALE, coletadas em cinco dep��sitos minerais localizados na PMC. Todas as an��lises que ser��o realizadas com esssas amostras em seguida est��o utilizando a estrutura de laborat��rios existentes da Universidade de S��o Paulo. Ao final da confec����o deste trabalho, com a aquisi����o e interpreta����o dos dados novos obtidos de geoqu��mica, geoqu��mica isot��pica e geocronologia, espera-se que num ��mbito inicial uma melhor e ampliada compreens��o do papel dos diques m��ficos e f��lsicos na constitui����o da PMC, e, num escopo mais amplo, servir como mais uma fonte de informa����es para o desenvolvimento da prospec����o e explora����o mineral e, consquentemente, na descoberta de novos dep��sitos minerais na PMC.
