The purpose of the article is to highlight the features of metal sculpture in Chernihiv in the second half of the seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries, its development in relation to other arts. The research methodology is based on a systematic approach, on the general scientific principles of objectivity and historicism, which provide an opportunity to comprehensive study of the artistic processing of metals of this period. The scientific novelty of the work is determined by the formulation and development of a topic that has not yet been considered. The first attempt to comprehensively study this problem. Conclusions. The range of monuments that best representing the achievements of artistic processing of metals of that time is outlined. Artistic casting is represented by ornamented bells and guns, as well as inkwells, utensils, lighting fixtures. The works of blacksmiths successfully complemented the buildings. It was found that the envelope of the door to the sacristy of the Chernihiv Trinity Cathedral is similar in composition to carpets and embroidered tablecloths. The absence of works made in Chernihiv has been established. Therefore, it was decided to involve in consideration works ordered by masters of other cities and countries by residents of Chernihiv or people associated with the city. The works were divided into groups according to the place of creation. Attention is paid to the work of goldsmiths on the sketches (projects) of artists. It was in the sketches that the composition, characteristic details and stylistic peculiarities were laid down. The customers were Hetman I. Mazepa, Chernihiv colonels J. Lyzohub and P. Polubotok, general convoy V. Dunyn-Borkovsky, clerk and judge Karpo Mokrievych, Chernihiv archbishop Anthony Stakhovsky, Chernihiv burgher Vlasiy N. Performed works were made by craftsmen from Ukraine, Koenigsberg, Ausburg, Nurnberg, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Moscow. Baroque features were clearly manifested in the metal sculpture of Chernihiv of this period.
