Originally developed to fulfill the needs of applications consuming meteorological data, the Open Source MeteoIO library offers many valuable features for operational systems. It has been from the very start developed with a focus on robustness and efficiency for applications that must run unattended. Its use has been expanded to cover a wide variety of operational tasks from monitoring to data standardization to data hub and from time series at single locations to time series of gridded data. It is now used by several operational services as well as several companies.
