Discotylenchus discretus Siddiqi 1980

Abstract

Discotylenchus discretus Siddiqi, 1980 (Figs 4, 5) Measurements. See Table 3. This species was recovered from the rhizosphere of apple (Malus domestica L. Borkh.) trees in the city of Bojnourd, Northern Khorasan province, Iran, during July 2009. The morphological and morphometric characters (see Table 3) are in full agreement with those in original description. The Iranian population of D. discretus is characterized by having a smooth lip region, tapering to an offset, distinct labial disc, lateral field with four incisures, body length 0.54–0.60 mm, stylet 8–9 μm long, spermatheca round, filled with sperm and tail filiform, 102–112 μm long.
