Abstract

Multicotyle purvisi Dawes, 1941 Cuora amboinensis (Reptilia); freshwater; duodenum, intestine, stomach; ORI; Malaysia (Asia) (Rohde 1968a, 1968 b, 1968 c; Watson & Rohde 1995). Remark: Rohde (1968c) experimentally infected the molluscs Angulyagra polyzonata, Bithynia (Digoniostoma) siamensis, Pila sp., Filopaludina martensis. Pila sp. is, in fact, Pila scutata for Rohde (1994). Siebenrockiella crassicollis (Reptilia); freshwater; duodenum, intestine, stomach; PAL and ORI; China, Malaysia (Asia) (Dawes 1941; Skryabin 1952; Dollfus 1958b; Rohde 1968a, b, c; Yamaguti 1963; Rohde 1971, 1990; Watson & Rohde 1991; Littlewood et al. 1998, 1999a; Littlewood et al. 1999b; Litvaitis & Rohde 1999; Olson et al. 2003; Murray et al. 2004). Remark: Type host; sequences of 18S and partial 28S in the GenBank database AJ228785 (Littlewood et al. 1998); AJ243684 (Littlewood et al. 1999b); AF 023115 (Litvaitis & Rohde 1999); AY222166 (Olson et al. 2003). Rohde (1966), Rohde (1982), Rohde & Watson (1990a, b, c, 1991b) did not mention the hosts of M. purvisi, but the natural hosts for it are S. crassicollis and C. amboinensis.
