Abstract

Thienemanniella tonewquerea Sasa et Tanaka (Figs 16 A–B) Thienemanniella tonewquerea Sasa et Tanaka, 2002: 43. Material examined. JAPAN: Gunma Prefecture, Tone River, Taisho Bridge, sweeping, holotype male, 12.xii.2000, (No. 405: 085). Diagnostic characters. The species differs from other East Asian members of the genus by antenna with 12 flagellomeres, AR 0.71. Palpomere 5/ 3: 2.1. Superior volsella angle-like in apical part, and joined together with inferior volsella. Emended description. Eyes pubescent; antenna with 12 flagellomeres, AR 0. 71. Anal point absent. Tergite IX rounded posteriorly. Other characters are consistent with the original descriptions but some additional characters may be added: Palpomeres length (in µm): -?; 28; 75; 95; 160, palpomeres 2 ellipsoid, 3 and 4 rectangular, 5 long and slender, palpomere 5/ 3: 2.1. Gonocoxite 160 µm long, with 1 long seta. Gonostylus 50 µm long. Superior volsella and inferior volsella well developed. Transverse sternapodeme narrow, 62 µm long and with oral projection; phallapodeme slightly curved. HR 3.2, HV 5.2. Distribution. Japan.
