Abstract

Anisops sardeus sardeus (Herrich-Schaeffer) (Fig. 7A) Material examined. Station 4, 17 -vii-2013,1♀; station 6, 28 -iii-2013, 1 ♂2♀; station 8, 25 -vii-2013, 1♀; station 13, 17 -vii-2013, 1♀; station 25, 24 -vii-2013, 1♀; 20-viii-2013, 2♂; station 32, 05 -ix-2013, 1 ♂1♀; station 34, 25 - vii-2013, 1♀; station 35, 27 -iii-2013, 3♀; 29-xi-2013, 2♀; 27-xii-2013, 2♂ 2♀; station 36, 28 -vi-2013, 1♀; station 48, 23 -v-2013, 1 ♂1♀; 19-vii-2013, 1♂; 22-viii- 2013,1♂1♀; station 49, 19 -vii-2013, 1 ♂2♀. Comments. The specimens have been collected in both flowing and stagnant areas of rivers, at localities up to 131 m asl. It was first recorded from Tunisia by Ferrari (1884) under the name of Anisops producta Fieber. Distribution. It is known from southern Europe, Middle East, northern and tropical Africa extending to India and Burma (Polhemus 1995; Carapezza 1997; Fent et al. 2011).
