Shingles is akin to David Bowie's Lightning Bolt

Shingles is akin to David Bowie's Lightning Bolt

Abstract

A few days ago I awoke to discover a weird area of red bumps on my right eye. They also trailed down my right temple. The rash was difficult to recognize. Apart from being an expert on facts, my fear caused me to become an expert on the bedbug's methods. I called my friend to examine it. He said with sympathy, "Good Lord!" I told you that "I look like David Bowie," referring to the lightning bolt red on Bowie's cover of Aladdin Sane. While the rash appeared bizarre, I also experienced strange sensations throughout the previous days. I believed I was suffering from my first migraine, because I was suffering from a headache and some nausea -- that kind of headache that would be described as painful, and I was unable to do anything but lie in bed and wonder what pressure system was weighing down on my maxillofacial upper region. Sinus infection? Migraine? Do I have to throw up? https://www.dailyhealthstudy.com/ In the following days, I discovered that doctors refer to this particular aspect of the shingles "prodrome". This is the term used to describe specific symptoms that appear prior to any serious illness. The constant droning of the word seemed to indicate exactly how out-of-it and foggy I felt. The day the rash first showed up, I happened to be off work for a few weeks, so I could immediately dress and then walk to a brand new urgent care facility run by the major New York City hospital. I need to stress how lucky I felt to A) be able to take care of this problem immediately,) have a top-quality, non-ER (emergency room) healthcare facility that I could go to and receive treatment as if it were Starbucks, and C) have the health insurance to cover the cost.
