Taphrorychus ramicola (Reitter, 1894) Distribution in Iran. Golestan (Samin et al. 2011). General distribution. Bulgaria, South-West Russia, Syria, Turkey. Taxonomy. This species has sometimes been placed in the genus Saliciphilus Sokanovskiy (Pfeffer 1985, 1994), but that genus is considered to be a synonym of Taphrorychus by Wood (1986) and Knížek (2011). Biology. The species is recorded from Carpinus, Corylus (Betulaceae), and Fagus (Fagaceae) (Schedl 1961; Pfeffer 1995). In Iran, it has been recorded from Corylus avellana (Betulaceae) (Samin et al. 2011).
