Velia saulii Tamanini Found in shaded, undisturbed spring-fed streams, small rivers and small lakes in both mountain and lowland forested landscapes (Kanyukova 2006), intolerant of pollution; found on top of the water surface film; zoophage (feeds on small aquatic insects); possibly univoltine; overwinters as imago (Esenbekova 2008). West Eurasian.
