Identificando repositórios de dados no Brasil

Abstract

As práticas do e-Science visam o reuso de recursos, compartilhamento, colaboração e agilidade do desenvolvimento científico. O compartilhamento dos dados de pesquisa é fundamental para concretização dessas práticas. Repositórios de dados de pesquisa são baseados em infraestruturas tecnológicas que armazenam dados em diferentes formatos, obtidos nas pesquisas, em quantidade expressiva e que requerem tratamento computacional. Este relato de pesquisa é parte do estudo “Repositórios de dados: projeto de implantação e gestão de dados científicos” desenvolvida no âmbito do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Gestão da Informação da UDESC. Uma das etapas desse estudo consiste em identificar repositórios de dados no Brasil e suas características, plataformas e processos de Gestão. O procedimento metodológico consistiu no levantamento de fontes no Registry of Research Data Repositories Intiative – re3data.org, no portal www.dataverse.org e no metabuscador de dados de pesquisa metabuscador.uspdigital.usp.br. Identificou-se 15 repositórios de dados de pesquisa em funcionamento, 93% em órgãos públicos e 7% em universidades privadas. Em relação ao software, 46% utilizam DSPACE, 46% DATAVERSE e 8% softwares desenvolvidos localmente. São poucos repositórios instalados e em razão do pouco tempo da existência, entende-se que há um amplo espaço para estudos técnicos e de pesquisa em nível de pós-graduação.
