Abstract

Esta investigación estuvo enfocada en determinar los factores de riesgo de deserción detectados por el Sistema de Información de Alertas Tempranas –SIAT- y los esquemas de acompañamiento establecidos para los estudiantes del programa académico de fonoaudiología de la Universidad Santiago de Cali entre 2014B a 2019B. Se identificaron los estudiantes reportados en el SIAT y se categorizaron los riesgos influyentes en la deserción estudiantil. El estudio es cualitativo, de tipo descriptivo y corte horizontal, bajo la metodología de estudio de caso. Se revisaron fuentes como bases de datos que contenían reportes de riesgo de deserción, los documentos del horizonte institucional, el portafolio de servicios del Programa Institucional para la Permanencia Estudiantil y entrevistas a líderes de servicios de este. Se encontró que más del 60% de los estudiantes que ingresan presentan alertas de riesgo de deserción, principalmente a nivel académico, económico y psicosocial. Igualmente, que se requiere seguir fortaleciendo los esquemas de acompañamiento considerando los factores y determinantes orientados por el Ministerio de Educación Nacional, pues, sólo se están considerando 7de 28 establecidos. Igualmente, se necesitan armonizar los procesos internos para dar respuesta los requerimientos que tienen los estudiantes y de esta manera mitigar efectivamente el riesgo de deserción estudiantil.
