Caracterização e utilização de três espécies da arborização urbana no biomonitoramento de material particulado

Abstract

R E S U M O O presente artigo teve como objetivo caracterizar e avaliar a concentração de material particulado disponibilizado no ambiente urbano de Araçuaí, Minas Gerais, utilizando as folhas das árvores da arborização urbana como biomonitoras. Estratificaram-se três zonas estratégicas: Zona AAI - Áreas com Atividades Intensas, caracterizada pela alta intensidade de veículos; Zona AAM - Áreas com Atividades Moderadas, e Zona ANP - Área Não Pavimentada e com baixo trânsito automotivo. Coletaram-se folhas dos indivíduos arbóreos durante o mês de agosto do ano de 2019 (sem ocorrência de chuvas). As amostras compostas foram construídas por 10 indivíduos em cada zona estratégica. No laboratório, pesou-se 20,00 ± 0,005 g das folhas homogeneizadas e em seguida foram submergidas em becker com capacidade para 500 mL contendo água destilada deionizada. Foi possível inferir que a espécie Azadirachta indica possui uma menor capacidade de retenção dos poluentes. As espécies que conseguiram uma maior retenção de material particulado foram a Caesalpinia peltophoroides e a Licania tomentosa, as quais não apresentaram diferenças significativas entre si. O formato da copa e a perenidade das folhas das espécies podem contribuir para a acumulação de material particulado. A zona ANP apresentou uma quantidade superior de material particulado comparado as outras duas zonas.
