Ripensare la comunicazione della scienza: consigli pratici per le iniziative di Citizen Science

Abstract

Il coinvolgimento dei cittadini nella scienza è una realtà di oggi. Molte persone partecipano come volontari alla ricerca scientifica, spesso nella raccolta dei dati, ma anche nelle fasi di controllo qualità, di analisi e interpretazione dei dati, nella definizione delle domande di ricerca e nella disseminazione dei risultati. L’obiettivo cruciale di ogni progetto di citizen science è sì contribuire alla ricerca scientifica, ma anche responsabilizzare i cittadini nel creare collaborazioni tra la loro comunità e gli scienziati. Inoltre, la citizen science promuove l’alfabetizzazione scientifica e il pensiero critico - elementi essenziali per una società consapevole -, aumenta la fiducia nella scienza e contribuisce a contrastare la disinformazione. I #CitSciComm Labs sono il cuore del progetto NEWSERA, che ha l’obiettivo di esplorare il potenziale delle iniziative di citizen science come strumento per comunicare la scienza e la tecnologia. Ai #CitSciComm Labs partecipano comunicatori della scienza e data journalist, rappresentanti di progetti di citizen science e degli stakeholder che compongono la quadrupla elica dell’innovazione; questi attori lavorano insieme per co-progettare strategie di comunicazione innovative. Ciascun Lab prende il nome dallo stakeholder designato come obiettivo di comunicazione, ed è composto da un gruppo in Italia, uno in Spagna e uno in Portogallo.
