Generación Centennial: Desafíos Epistémicos para la Educación Universitaria

Abstract

El presente ensayo, desarrollado bajo el enfoque documental, tiene como objetivo precisar los desafíos epistemológicos y pedagógicos que supone el hecho de educar a la generación de nativos digitales o Centennials. Para lograr tal fin, el artículo se estructura de la siguiente manera: 1. Presenta las características más relevantes que definen a la generación Centennials, entre las que destacan su nacimiento en medio del auge exponencial del internet, el avance de las redes sociales y el cuestionamiento a la visión tradicional de la educación, siendo una generación que demanda respuestas inmediatas en medio de un contexto globalizado. 2. Plantea el modelo del buen docente universitario, el cual lleva a la reingeniería de los procesos educativos y a la orientación de los educandos al desarrollo integral. 3. Señala las limitaciones actuales de la educación y la urgencia de innovar en materia educativa y tecnológica, para satisfacer las demandas de la generación Centennials. Se concluye en la necesidad del debate sobre estos temas complejos, fomentando las propuestas investigativas, así como el avance de nuevos enfoques epistemológicos, que conduzcan hacia prácticas educativas más humanas y humanizantes.
