Abstract

Objetivo. En el presente trabajo tuvo como prop��sito evaluar las habilidades de pensamiento, la comprensi��n lectora y la memoria operativa en estudiantes normalistas de Veracruz, M��xico, y analizar las posibles relaciones entre ellas. Metodolog��a. Se trata de un estudio con enfoque cuantitativo y un tipo de dise��o descriptivo, transversal, observacional y prospectivo; participando 45 estudiantes de dos instituciones de la zona. Para medir las habilidades de pensamiento se usaron diferentes pruebas y una escala de Likert con 19 ��tems, para la comprensi��n lectora se us�� una prueba tipo cloze y para la memoria operativa en su dominio verbal y en el viso-espacial, se usaron tareas de alcance complejo. An��lisis de Resultados. Se encontraron serias deficiencias en las habilidades de pensamiento de las cuales, las correspondientes al razonamiento inductivo verbal y figurativo tuvieron asociaci��n positiva y significativa con algunas mediciones de memoria operativa verbal y viso-espacial. Adem��s, el nivel de comprensi��n lectora fue bajo y con asociaci��n positiva a pruebas de habilidades de pensamiento, que requer��an poco o nulo esfuerzo lector. Conclusiones. Este trabajo permite en primer lugar, reconocer la condici��n preocupante de los futuros docentes de ni��os en habilidades cognitivas b��sicas y en segundo lugar, plantear caminos para desarrollar las habilidades de pensamiento mediante el entrenamiento de la memoria operativa y el fortalecimiento de la comprensi��n lectora y del vocabulario.
