Mergers and Acquisitions: lessons from the Asian financial crisis

The current global financial crisis is forcing various global economic sectors to reshape their business operations. This is evident from a large number of recent incidents ranging from acquisitions in the US banking industry, to murders in the UAE construction sector. As the impact of the current financial crisis is being built around the globe, the resurface of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) appears to be a mere necessity for many, and the Asian financial crisis of 1997 provided numerous lessons to be learned from.
