The mexicana group The two species in this group are defined by several synapomorphies: a single preocular scale, more than 123 subcaudal scales, three supralabials in contact with the eye, maxillary teeth from 14 to 15 +3, prenasal scale separated from the second supralabial, and the tail length is more than 29% of the total length.
